Try the Hudson River Valley Rumble

The Hudson River Valley Rumble is an annual event that is held on all four September weekends. The event is meant to celebrate the natural resources, culture, history, and heritage of the Hudson River Valley including its landscape, communities, and trails.

Take your family out for the 18th Valley Rumble; hike, bike, and paddle alongside your loved ones. If you want to end your summer on a high, adrenaline-filled note where your family really gets a chance to bond, this is the place to be.

Attend the Woodstock-New Paltz Art & Craft Fair.

Be part of a tradition that began in 1982. The Woodstock Fair attracts art and craft enthusiasts from all over the country. The Woodstock Fair may just be America’s largest art & craft demonstrations, which guarantees that there is something for each member of the family to enjoy.

Be entertained by local musicians and experience Westchester County’s locally produced specialty foods. Also sample wines form over 60 New York wineries and try various craft beer lagers, hard ciders, and spirits. The Fair will kick off on 2nd September and come to an end on 4th September.

West Chester Concert Series

Whether you’re a musical family or not this is a great way to end your summer. Bring a picnic, chairs, and blankets to the Keehner Park Amphitheater on 3rd and 4th September between 7-9 p.m. Enjoy performances by the Westchester Symphony Orchestra and the Blue Stone Ivory Band. No admission fee is necessary; the concert is fully sponsored by Energy Alliances and Constellation and is open to everyone. Note, however, as much as food and drinks are allowed, alcohol has been strictly prohibited.

Visit a Local Library

Why not? One commonly overlooked activity families can partake in is a visit to the library. Libraries can be just as fun and exciting as conventional destinations. Libraries are a great place to spend time with one another, bond, and have fun while learning. This is a perfect opportunity to expand your family’s knowledge-base, create memories, and slowly get the kids back into a learning mood as the end of the summer draws closer.
