There are some basic things to do to enjoy a stress-free trip. One of the most essential is packing a carry-on suitcase. Not only does it save a lot of time at the airport, but you’ll also save some money on checked baggage fees too.

Furthermore, you won’t have to worry about the airline losing your bag. Basically, you get to enjoy the freedom of visiting a new destination without heavy baggage holding you back. There is just one question to ask, how can you fit everything you need into a carry-on?

You are about to find out! Outlined below are five tips that’ll make carry-on only travels possible.

Pack for a Week

Whether you intend to stay for two weeks in Hawaii or a month in Westchester, never pack more than a week’s worth of cloth. After that, you simply have to do a weekly laundry. Most parts of the world offer an inexpensive laundry service at about $1 per kilo of laundry.

Mix and Match Clothes

The number of clothing items needed for a trip doesn’t usually exceed 10-12. You simply have to mix them all up. For example, 3-5 tops, 3-4 bottoms, 1-2 dresses, and 1-2 warm layers. Consider packing an outfit for a workout too.

Just make sure the outfits can be worn together. All the tops must match all the bottoms, even if it requires packing a specific color scheme.

Pack Solid Toiletries

One of the things to consider when traveling with carry-on only is the toiletries. Your liquids must be in a 100ml sized container or less. Consider purchasing travel sized products when on the go.

Another option to help maximize what you can pack for your trip is solid toiletries. For example, shampoo bars, which function as shampoo and soap. There are also solid sunblock, perfume, and deodorants.

Go Paperless

Thanks to the ever-advancing technology, you no longer have to pack books for your travels. The smarter thing to do at this age is to pack a tablet. They are usually significantly thinner than any paperback and can contain more than one thousand books. Another option is to read on your smartphone.

Don’ Pack for “just in case”

This is one of the reasons people pack too much for a trip. Some items are panic-packed just in case they are needed. We usually never use them all through the trip. As such, you must make sure everything earns its spot in the bag.

You need things you use regularly, that can’t be purchased (or too expensive) at your destination.
