It’s the brightest season of the year with the leaves changing colors and big orange pumpkins filling the fields. With the fall season having just the perfect weather for outdoor activities you are wondering where to make the most of it. 

The Westchester area has lots of fun events lined up for this wonderful period. This guide will provide a versatile selection of places to have fun this fall.


The Haunt

This is a thrilling place to have fun if you are a fan of horror movies. The Haunt at Rocky Ledge brings horror movies to a reality and you are welcome to participate. It features two heart skipping haunted houses, a terrifying walk trail, and a haunted cornfield! This is a great place to enjoy Halloween since you are probably too old to trick or treat.  The Haunt opens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.


Dykeman Farm

The farm was established over 70 years ago has since then been a great spot for pumpkin picking and hayrides. The pumpkin patch opens from September 29th till October 28th. 

You can visit during the weekend and on Columbus Day. Guess what? You get to enjoy all these fun activities for free and even parking. Kids can also tag along and have fun in the children’s area that features corn pits, face painting, and nice photo spots. 


Croton Gorge Park

The most visible feature during the fall season is the presence of the iridescent leaves. This park is a great place to experience fall foliage. Walk the trail up to Croton Dam and gaze at the magnificent scene you will encounter at the top. 

You can take another trail that will lead you to the foot of the waterfall. The trails are accessible to all levels of hikers and can even be traversed by kids. 


Lincoln Center

The Lincoln Center is the place to be for lovers of cool Jazz music. Fans of Jazz troop to enjoy live performances from over 300 musicians that include a lineup of jazz legends and up and coming musicians. 

Several artists like Billy Harper, Roy Haynes, Regina Carter, Andrew Renfroe, Ulises Owens, and several others will be performing to soothe your ears with the sweet sounds of Jazz. Enjoy a free show and beverage if you attend the Jazz shows.


YoFi Film Festival

Here is a great event for the movie geeks to attend and have a great time. YoFi Fest celebrates the global cinema industry by presenting a collection of rare films, workshops, parties, and lots more. You also get to have a conversation with the filmmakers as a member of the audience through Q&A sessions. The 6th edition of the takes place from November 2 to 10, 2018.
